South of France, Monaco 6x6 scans

Found some old, old 6x6 transparencies shot eons ago with my venerable Hassleblad 500CM film camera (stolen from a hotel room long ago, but replaced by insurance with something better!) on my favorite film ever, Fuji Velvia 50 ASA slide film.  The color saturation was insane, and not realistic-- but since when is photography about realism? This film was just fantastic stuff.

First, a very early morning to catch a sunrise in Monaco.  Shot two or three rolls over about about 20 minutes as the sun came up. Various long exposures, note the streetlights still on.  The pinkish glow is that wonderful dawn lighting-- the sun rises out over the open harbor onto the city built into the mountains that line the principality. (Monaco, while extremely beautiful, is not very large, and not that interesting of a place, believe it or not. If you live there, likely you are doing it to dodge taxes-- and to keep your tax exempt status, you have to physically be there a lot of the year.  My suspicion is that it gets a little boring after a while!)

Second, the beach club at the Carlton in Cannes.  There's a lot more going on in France, than just a few miles down the coast in Monaco.  Better food too.
